Nearly Here

It is so hard to believe that Christmas is just 2 days away. It always breaks my heart that the anticipation is so huge and then it only lasts one day. It seems to come faster and faster every year. Kelly and I both had from Thursday until Boxing Day off, I just work 4 hours tomorrow, so it has been really nice to spend the last few hectic days together. Not much else new around here, just waiting for the big day. Grace enjoys sitting on the presents under the tree, she uses them as a chair, the ones she likes to sit on are her own and one for Avery, so that's not too bad. I've discovered my cats are sleeping on them too. Grace had a little party at her Day Care on Thursday and Kim, that's who runs it, got them all a little gift. Grace got a little baby, he's very cute, she seems to quite like him. I hope that you enjoy the holiday season. Merry Christmas from all of us to all of you.

Finally Better!

Well Gracie has just spent almost the last week under the weather. She was throwing up Saturday and then just couldn't shake it, until finally yesterday she started eating and this morning she woke up in a very good mood, thank goodness. It has been a long week. With power outages and snow yesterday, we couldn't get a tree, we had to go the store and buy one, to a super busy week at work, I am glad to be on days off. Kelly, Grace and I got the tree decorated this morning and most of the decorations up. My parents bought Grace a "Little People" Nativity Scene, it's so cute, here's a picture. We are almost completely ready, just a few last minute things to pick up today and that's it. I may even do some baking. Hope you are all enjoying the Holiday season.

15 Months and Growing Fast

It is so hard to beleive the Grace is already 15 months old, it really does just fly by. I have almost completed my Christmas shopping, just a few easy ones left. We went to Nanaimo today, wow, pretty good though for line ups, we went early so that was probably why. Not much new around here though, Kelly's dad got back from Mexico on Sunday and he came by last night, looking nice and tanned, they had a ton of fun. Grace quite enjoys the snow, especially since I taught her how to through a snowball :P She is growing up so fast and we really have to watch what we say because se repeats everything and quite often even gets the words right, pretty amazing. She insists on wanting to walk everywhere, she doesn't like her stroller after being in her carseat, mind you who could blame her, but still that makes for a very rough shopping trip. I can't do it by myself anymore, ah well. I am going to start decorating the house tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes, we are a little nervous about the tree this year but I think we are going to try and anchor it to the wall, so that it will be a little safer. Well that's about it from here for now.

Holy Snow!

Well, holy snow day batman! This is amazing. We went for a little cruise to town this afternoon, the roads were pretty good, just slushy, but what a difference in the snow from Maple Bay compared to town, we have a whole lot more. We got a couple pictures of Grace outside, she wasn't quite sure what to think. After a couple of minutes though, she was good, she liked it. Our night out went really well, Grace was excellent for her babysitter and we had a really good time. I hope that everyone is staying safe this weekend and I hope you all have a wonderful week. Talk to you soon.

Well hello all. There is not too much new around here, almost all of Kelly's family are now out of the province and in one case, out of the country. Kelly's mom and brother moved to Grand Prairie Alberta, although not together and Kelly's dad and his girlfriend are vacationing in Mexico. Amber is still here though so there is still one family member here. We haven't heard from Mike yet, which concerns me a little, but hopefully everything is fine. Grace is doing really well, talking a lot, and not just nonesense, she has a lot of words. She no longer likes to walk anywhere, she has to run, so that is not so fun, I think that I need to buy her a harness and a leash. No, I'm really serious. We are looking forward to Saturday night, should be a lot of fun. I guess that's about it from here, like I said not much new. Talk to you all soon.

This is just a really cute picture of Grace, it was taken just a couple of days ago. I couldn't resist showing it to all of you. She is giving her doll, Maddie, a kiss.

She said Aunty.
We had my brother-in-law and his fiance and my neice over for dinner last night, as they are leaving to live in Alberta on Saturday, boo. Anyway and Ashlie, my soon to be sister-in-law, we hope, was trying to get Grace to say aunty, when all of a sudden out it popped. It was no mistake, she kept saying it all evening, it was pretty amazing, she's so clever (haha). Grace is getting very good with all her words, mostly animal sounds, but hey we take what we can get at this age. She can tell you what a cow, a cat, a sheep, monkey, donkey, horse and a snake say. We're pretty proud. Other than that not too much new around here. She ges to experience her first real babysitter, the kind you have to pay with money, next weekend, so I will fill you all in that later. The weather around here has been so crazy, we alsomst lost our power just as we were sitting down to eat last night, but it held fast and we didn't have to eat in the dark. So that was nice. Oh, I almost forgot, Kelly and I recently bought a tent trailer, we are so excited to be able to start camping lots, so look for us in the local camp grounds this summer.

They grow up so fast. It's so hard to beleive that Grace is 14 months old already, it really does go by so fast. She finally became a toddler a night before she turned 13 months old, so she has been going strong for a month now. She says lots of new words everyday. She can certainly show you her temper when she wants too, although she is usually pretty mild mannered. She loves day care, she goes twice a week, and is always learning there too. We've had a busy few days, Grace and I went to visit friends in Nanaimo on Friday and then we all went to Nanaimo again on Saturday and then played with our cousins at my mum and dad's for Grandma's birthday and then today she had a visit with her grandma and then her grandpa stopped by too, needless to say she is quite crabby right now. So I hope you are all enjoying this so far and I will talk to you all again soon.

Ok, this is the picture I was referring too.
Well, I this is my first attempt at this, so hopefully it goes OK. I have taken my cue from a friend with family far away, so we can stay in better touch with those far away.
This is me an Grace, it was taken in the summer.
